Archery Season Target Bulls

It's been a busy hunting season so far. I'm gonna play a little "catch up" and get back up to speed. This year I had a chance to guide a hunter from Pittsburgh by the name of Bruce Barletta. Bruce waited 14 years for his one opportunity at AZ archery elk hunting. We set out to make the best of it. I cant extract video off my new camera yet so I'm posting from my iPhone. We hunted hard, had some chances at a few great bulls, missed some opportunities, and even did some missing haha. Unfortunately Bruce went home empty but we worked very hard and had a great time. Here were a few of our "target" bulls. I'm sure the video quality on the upload isn't gonna be great so sorry for the quality.

Gary Schenone's First Coues Buck

Heres part one of a two part hunt. This is Gary Shenone and his first ever coues hunt. Gary owns his own insurance company and has had the pleasure of hunting in many parts of the world but this would turn out to be an unforgettable experience for him! He still laughs about killing animals in many regions yet losing his composure over these little boogers. Kyle Roan Jr came along for extra eyes as usual playing a big part of the hunt. I apologize for the shaky footage and short clips of the hunt, but youtube only allows 10 mins of video upload and a lot of my video was hand held. As I edit these hunts and put things together I learn so much about the quality of footage I'd like to capture in the future and the unique shots that you'd enjoy seeing. Well it's here again, Craig and Rachelle Steele have taken an idea from scratch and within a couple of years have turned it into a very efficient must have "Resource Guide"! 3 YARDS SHORT

Well I finally made it out on the last day of the 2012 archery javelina hunt. I normally don't care to kill the little stink bombs anymore but I had it in my mind to kill one at a 100+ yards on film. My brother came out with me to run the camera and hang out for the evening. We went to the point where we were going to glass from and glassed for 30 mins before we decide to back out and explore new country. As we walked back out I heard pigs below us in the thick wash. Within minutes pigs were coming out of every nook and cranny. They made their way up the other side of the canyon headed away from us. They were everywhere but we had to wait for a mature boar to present himself closer to the range we were hoping to achieve. After 10 minutes of waiting for them to move out and spread the chosen boar stood broadside at 97 yards. Gabriel rolled the camera and it was on! I re ranged to be certain, drew, settled my pin, and let it fly!!! I hit him about 3 inches low of where I was aiming. The arrow passed completely through and touched his heart as it passed. He only went 40 yards and paused as he pumped blood everywhere. He expired very quickly thereafter. So now I have great footage on my new camera thanks to Gabriel and I can't figure out how to extract it haha. As soon as I figure out how to get it off the camera I'll share the footage with you. Thank you Gabriel for sharing this good time in the field with me and I look forward to sharing the film with all of you!!
